Definitely worth it, although it features a vinyl wrap on some hard surface. I gifted it to my 7-year-old great-granddaughter for Christmas.

This lap desk is both adorable and comfortable. Its dimensions are just right, and the pencil cutout ingeniously holds my phone sideways.

Although it had a buckwheat type filling, the balance of the desk on my lap wasn't perfect. However, it still offers stability for my items.
